Paint colour mixer

Paste any HEX code from your paint-by-numbers palette and see how to mix it from five basic acrylics: white, black, red, yellow and blue.

Proportions are by volume. Add the dark pigments a drop at a time — they tint far faster than white.

Reading the recipe

Start with the largest component, then add the next one gradually and compare against your palette page in daylight. Acrylics dry slightly darker, so stop just before the match looks perfect.
